How often have you wanted to speak with someone who also has CMT?
This is where our State and Regional area Coordinators and Support Group Contacts play an important role providing you with the opportunity to share with and learn from other people who have CMT living in your area.
Our coordinators are available to assist people with CMT and their families with contact names for medical and allied medical professionals who have experience with CMT patients. They are also available to assist with other valuable support. Some coordinators are also Support Group contacts who organise meetings or ‘coffee mornings’ where ideas are being shared and members are able to support each other by discussing the challenges that they face. They have found that just having someone to talk to who is also on the “CMT journey” has helped them and their families cope with CMT in many ways.
Support Groups are also open to those caring for people with CMT and for parents of children with CMT. It’s all about mutual encouragement as we negotiate the many challenges that living with CMT brings to us. The CMTAA Inc encourages members of our CMT “Family” to participate in these Support Groups.
